Rural Cumbrians who have to rely on imported coal which has doubled in price would want it as we have no greener option & can't afford elec heaters, calor gas or oil (tho many of us can't afford to install oil central heating nor have the outdoor space for oil tank).

Wood products also much more expensive & in short supply.

I'm very anti the mine but if UK govt is forcing it on us, at least let us benefit from it.

It was -15C at 8am this morning & -9 at 5pm.

The government has just approved the UK’s first deep coal mine in 30 years – this project will increase global emissions & undermine the UK’s chances of meeting its climate targets. #environment #climate #climateaction #climatechange #nature #UK #coal #fossilfuels #renewable #greenenergy #notocoal #cumbria #CumbriaMine #hope #carbon #ProtectOurPlanet #netzero #co2 #care
