For Cully lovers, here's the promised photo of the special box good friend Ian S had made for us. Cully is now in pride of place with photos and objects important to us.
With huge love from Platypus Rest. We are still sorrowful, but there is some easing of the intensity.
A week ago Cully died, and we're so sad.
However, our memories of this stonkingly handsome Malamute X Shepherd dog are joyous, happy and love-filled. We hope yours are, too.

I know many of you will be incredibly saddened by the news of Cully's death last week. He was almost 14 years old, and he had been palliative with stage 3 kidney disease for the final three years of his life.
He was happy and had a great quality of life up until the end. When I left Thursday morning I didn't realise that that was Cully's last day in his fur, that his end would be so fast, and that Peter would be Cully's vigil companion.
Please understand that we couldn't share on socials until we had told some people in person - and spent time supporting each other because we are so mired in our grief.
Cully brought love, handsomeness, joy, great bark communication and happiness into all our lives. My day is dimmer right now with his absence. I'm not working until next year. My heart hurts so much.

A year ago today we were at the lake - I am going north to inter mum's ashes later today (thunderstorms in Sydney willing), and will miss Cully, Peter Mallon and all our special spots.

Cully is flat out after intensively supervising a parole application submission that I wanted off my desk ASAP. Cully knows how stressed and upset this made me - even with a victim's support person on the phone to help - so now he is modelling utter relaxation as a guided exercise.
