Tumbleton Lake, on the extensive Northumberland Cragside Estate near Rothbury, captured in a spell of lovely Spring sunshine.
This small body of freshwater is home to a wide range of flora and fauna.
The shores are lined with reeds and rushes, providing habitat for various bird species, including ducks, swans, and herons. The surrounding woodland provides a haven for small mammals and a wide array of plant life, including wildflowers and ferns.
The also features the tallest Scots pine in Britain, reaching at a height of 131 feet (40 m).
Cragside is named after Cragend Hill, which stands above the impressive house, built by William Armstrong, 1st Baron Armstrong, founder of the Armstrong Whitworth armaments firm.
Armstrong was an industrial magnate, scientist, philanthropist and inventor.

I chickened out of a group walk this morning because of the wet weather forecast. It brightened up in the afternoon so I walked across to Cragside. Quite a change from a couple of weeks ago when they were turning people away, hardly anyone was there. I tried the scone of the month, savory cheese and marmite! I loved it but I expect it will divide opinion.
