Hypocrites!

That's what my county's government members are.

See, there's this rule about how "responsible parties" have to shovel the sidewalk adjacent to their property at most 48 hours after a storm, because otherwise it may ice up and people will break their necks.

Guess what?

That path through the wood on which I walk is the responsibility of the county government. We're way more than 48 hours past the end of the storm, and it has not been TOUCHED by the county. Today it is slushy, but for the past few days it was icy. I have good boots, but I had a few close calls that could have sent me on my ass.

This is a well-used path, one that goes to a metro station.

This seems to me that this is a lawsuit waiting to happen. The county tells people to shovel their sidewalks under the notion that someone can break their neck. Why does it not apply to the pedestrian path that the county maintains?

Hypocrites!

This is a huge "fuck you" to pedestrians.

I've thought about complaining, but knowing how batshit crazy the government is, I fear that their "solution" will be to close it.
