Running late cos roofers turned up and of course the landlord (isn't that a ridiculous and dated word? Landlord? Landed-parasite would be better) hadn't warned us they were coming
Still, gone now. Have a beautiful rook that passed by yesterday. A far more welcome visitor 😘
There are jackdaws aplenty in our backyard but very rarely do crows show up. Today I left out some cat food, dried worms and peanuts, which the jackdaws immediately descended upon. It seems the commotion caught the attention of a couple of doves and also this crow.

Jeremy, annoyed at changes to the table plus the starling invasion and squirrel raids decided to get his peanuts straight from the source today.
"Ding dong---er, caw!, caw!"
"Bring us more food," they say.
Dutifully, I provided peanuts and warm homemade bread to the neighborhood crow family.
I wish I could provide the crows with a warmer place but crows need to keep moving to stay fed and warm.
I'm grateful they stop by to see me, or rather, know I'll provide them with food so it's best to keep me on one of their pitstops.
Not greedy at all.
It's so cold out, I say, take as many as you can, dear one!
I adore these crows.
In exchange for peanuts they once brought me an unknown animal rib and dropped it on my doorstop.
