The organizers of this afternoon's protest against #DougFord, his developer buddies & their $8.3-billion real estate swindle shrewdly located their event a few blocks from the new hospital that the Premier re-named to honour... one of his developer buddies.

Appears Mr. Cortellucci and #DougFord have had a long & beneficial relationship. The Premier even went as far as rewriting the #Ontario provincial hospital-naming rules so he could truly honour his top donor by renaming Mackenzie Health to #Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital.

Additionally, the hospital's west wing was named the DeGasperis Muzzo Tower after the DeGasperis [#greenbelt][#AuditorGeneralReport] family and the Muzzo family, owners of Marel Contractors.

Mario Cortellucci is one of the developers who attended Doug Ford’s daughter’s wedding and sat with him at the Ford family table. Shortly afterward, #DougFord appointed #Cortellucci to the York Region Police Board. Mr. Cortellucci ran for an Italian senate seat in 2018 under a far-right coalition that supports anti-LGBTQ, anti-immigrant, & Islamophobic policies. Mr. Cortellucci also owns land adjacent to the Ford govt's proposed Hwy 413 and the #Greenbelt.

Shortly after #DougFord took office the provincially owned OPG sold the landmark Hearn Generating station on #Toronto's waterfront to developer & longtime PC donor Mario #Cortellucci for a mere $16 million.
Ford's govt said "contaminated soil" justified the bargain-basement pricing.
However, OPG sold a similar site on Mississauga's waterfront for $275 million even though the land was also contaminated.
Hearn is a heritage site; the City was not consulted or offered the chance to buy it
