Rune WoldsnesVery happy this alliance came together and that I get to work on it. Norwegian oil company Equinor is being rightfully protested against in most countries they try to worsen the climate crisis by drilling oil.
One challenge is that their biggest owner, who happens to be the Norwegian people, have limited exposure to what their state owned oil company is doing outside of Norway. It’s dependent on someone in the country protesting Equinor figuring out how to get coverage in Norwegian media or how to get Norwegian’s attention on social media. There are so many cultural barriers to this. Imagine if I told you to go viral in Switzerland, where would you start?
So what has happened is organisations from Norway, Canada, The UK, Argentina and Brazil came together, and are now stronger than ever working on stopping Equinors most polluting projects around the world.
