"The misinformed views circulating #online suggesting that [John] Davidson must be a #racist deep down, or that his tic was akin to a Freudian slip, are fundamental misunderstandings about Tourette’s that need to be addressed. Davidson has #coprolalia, a particularly distressing type of Tourette’s that affects between 10% & 20% [of] people with the condition. Coprolalic tics are when a person says offensive or obscene things."
I’m a linguist with Tourette’s – here’s what I want people to understand after Baftas controversy

I often feel that I live in my body alongside another person who wants to continually move and say things.

Someone got fired today, and someone kicked out. I could actually have an easy #lawsuit.

The supervisor somehow didn't know that one of the symptoms of #tourettes is accidentally insulting people.

A guy was trying to bully me for a week, I had a shouting fit, and insulted a security guy when he wouldn't go away from my room.

The supervisor made me apologize or go saying I was lying about TS #Coprolalia.

I called her boss.

The bully and her are gone.

I have the most polite #coprolalia ever, which is the #tourettes symptom of randomly speaking, or shouting.

The Greek basis of it essentially means "feces babble," as it's usually extremely offensive, or random curses.

I do that at times. Only when very mad, frustrated or hurt.

Typical I say or whisper observations, or things I'm thinking

Earlier I said to a woman on a train "My God you're beautiful, why the hell don't you have a wedding ring on?" Then ran away embarrassed.

Everyone is familiar with the #Tourettes outbursts. It's the entire #stereotype even if only about 20% of cases get really bad cursing outbursts called #coprolalia often.

I don't. My #tics tend to be sounds, and whispers when I curse or say something. Never shouts.

Another #symptom you don't hear about is kinda the opposite of outbursts. I'll say something in my head, and think I said it, but never did, I was just staring off into space.

Then confuse everyone.

#LRT: it's true, I neither know how nor want to explain "your mom fucks!" as either sex ed or #tourettes to the 7 year old in question. (Listen I keep telling the #coprolalia it's none of my business but that sure isn't stopping it. 🙃😅) #lifewithtics #tourettessyndrome
"[...] de la coprolalia -término con el cual se designa, como es sabido, el balbucir de manera involuntaria, o mejor dicho contra l a propia voluntad, las más obscenas palabras-. La raíz de la coprolalia sería la percepción que tienen los enfermos de no poder abstenerse de balbucir ciertos sonidos, las más de las veces un « jem, jem »."
