Are you a budding copepodologist? Then there is a book just for you. Charles Miller, a retired, prominent copepod expert last year published a book "Oar Feet and Opal Teeth". The title refers to the Greek for #Copepoda (Oar Feet) and silica hardened teeth they use to crush glass diatom tests. Miller was well known for studying these teeth. Any ideas? It looks vaguely copepod-y to me (which is sort of an admission of ignorance), but others have suggested that it might be some sort of water mite.
