@frankashwood Very nice photograph of an #Onychophora species. This taxon is predominantly native to the Southern Hemisphere and possesses morphological characteristics homologous to the #Arthropoda. Depending on the phylogenetic concept (Ecdysozoa versus Articulata), the understanding of the relationship between Onychophora and the Annelida differs. However, they are always classified as relatives of Arthropoda. For example, within the so called #Panarthropoda.

Häufig findet man den Großen Westlichen Bandfüßer (Polydesmus angustus) in der Laubstreu, unter Steinen, Rinde oder an Totholz. Sie besitzen keine Augen, tragen dafür aber eine massive "Ritterrüstung".
