While going through my things, I came across these game guides 😀
I used to enjoy reading them and looking at the screenshots and artwork, and sometimes learning more about how the games were developed. Some of them are really informative!

With Playtonic (the Yooka-Laylee people) consisting of former Rare folks, I think they should give us a game like Conker's Bad Fur Day again.
Especially the part where you play a cute, little, colorful critter having to save their skimpily clad girlfriend(s). 😁😊
Conker's Bad Fur Day was released 25 years ago today 🐿️

It's *that* game!
I've had this copy of Conker's Bad Fur Day for 6 years, and no hardware to play it on. But I finally picked up an Analogue 3D and now we can relive one of the most adult* N64 games ever.
*featuring public drunkeness, swear words, and furry ass in just the first 15 minutes.

For #vgmwednesday here is an orchestration of "The Great Might Poo" from Conker's Bad Furday, arranged by Julien Bodart, sang by Matthew McGee, and performed by OJV.
While it certainly benefited from the popularity of late 90s humor like South Park, Bevis & Butthead, etc, #ConkersBadFurday is a brilliant satire of the 3D platformer genre that Rare had worked to build. It is a brilliantly fun game, regardless of humor and offers so much variety in its formula.
The original song is a testimate to Rare's brilliance with the N64 hardware. It sounds amazing, despite the compression and extra CPU power needed for audio on the platform. This arrangement elevates the work to a new level. Even after all these years, I still know the lyrics by heart.

Playing this 2001 game in 2025 because I didn't have an N64, and was too poor back then.
