We had a really nice day out today at the Bluebird K7 Festival. We saw it in the water and we heard the jet engine power up (loud!) but they had a technical problem then the conditions got too rough. But great to see it on Coniston again

For #ThrowbackThursday, the summit of the Old Man of Coniston. Every summit in the Lake District is marked with a cairn like this.

As Alfred Wainwright notes, the Old Man is especially "scarred" by mining, but is a popular, accessible climb and a scenic one if you take the right route. My earlier attempt to climb it was defeated by Lakes weather.
