Good teaching changes lives.

Office hours meeting today. I wanted to know how to tailor my letter of recommendation to best support his application to the college (and degree) of his dreams. He kept telling me how my course in TX Government helped him see those dreams and to realize that he could achieve them.

Keep teaching the good fight, teachers. Book bans and all the rest are powerless once a student finds his/her/their voice. #EduTooter #CollegeEssays #HigherEd

I have so many college essays queued up in my inbox that I’m getting nervous about my chances of “getting in.”

If we’re so good at indoctrinating our students, can we coordinate to convince them to work AHEAD of a deadline by a few? Would be a big help.

[To be clear, I LOVE that I’ve convinced students to trust me with their writing even after our course / semester is finished. But I’m still trying to dig out from under this week’s ice storm.]
