I just came across a lost and forgotten recipe from Harry McElhone, of Harry's New York Bar. These instructions for preparing the Evolution Cocktail were published in the July 26, 1925 edition of The Paris Times, an English-language newspaper popular with refugees from Prohibition. The Evolution never made into any of Harry's books, but it doesn't sound bad at all, I'll probably whip one up someday soon.

Donn Beach was known as 'the father of the tiki bar' and created the first Tiki themed restaurant called Don the Beachcomber in 1933. The restaurant also opened other chains throughout the United States during the 40’s & 50’s.
