I brought home from the #ClimateCarnival some kumquats from Reynard St Community Garden. I Will make a small batch of gin based kumquat cordial from the peels, and freeze the inside flesh to make a marmalade at some future time. Yes, community gardens and making home infusions and preserves is part of the #ClimateEmergency.

Upstairs in the conference room of #ClimateCarnival are five great tree art posters highlighting the environmental services in carbon sequestration, water filtering, air, habitat and biodiversity. Logging of native forests is still occurring in Victoria and needs to stop. We have a #ClimateEmergency. Thanks to Newlands Friends of the Forest and Australian Climate and Forest Alliance.

New report shows immediately ending native forest logging could prevent 14 million tonnes of carbon emissions by 2030

A new forest carbon report published by The Tree Projects and Victorian Forest Alliance has found that native forest logging in Victoria emits around 3 million tonnes of carbon per year, equivalent to 700,000 medium sized cars.

A couple of food stalls and a coffee car in the courtyard outside at the #ClimateCarnival. The tepsis stew, rice and salad from the Iraqi vegan food stall was absolutely delicious .
