In the past, I have usually made a traditional Christmas Pudding for today's late lunch. It's quite a bit of work so this year we decided to have trifle. Which may be the first time for a few decades. The good old Edmunds cookbook has a great recipe, but the taste sensation was brushing the sponge with a dry Spanish sherry, rather than the sickly McWilliams Semi-Sweet sherry of my childhood. Woof, what a difference! Better living everyone!
#Trifle 😍 @paulhellyer In previous years @FoxyLustyGrover and others encouraged people to join #TrifleClub and post recipes and pictures.
I remember trifle my mother made, using a sweet fruit liqueuer to soak the sponge in, probably Cointreau.
I tried a chocolate trifle with Baileys and ladyfinger sponge biscuits instead. Yum as! #ChristmasTips
