The weather was great, we walked a million steps, ate some delicious food, drank a lot of coffee, saw some super cool things, and met some really nice people. How do you photograph something that's been photographed a million times by a million people? This question always runs through my mind when I'm traveling and seeing the sites. I try to look for perspectives that are different than what you'd expect. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes I don't. This iPhone shot from 2017 is one of my favorite examples of a time when I think I got it right. Space Needle through the canopy of the Chihuly museum next door.

Chihuly's glass art is often somewhere between fascinating and disturbing. From this angle, directly beneath a piece suspended at Tacoma's courthouse, I feel like I've seen sci-fi films where this is the invasion from another dimension getting started.
