Riding a bike in America is being constantly reminded that we all live in separate realities. I was walking my bike on a crosswalk out of a park when a guy in a minivan sped up to go around me and yelled "Get out of the road you fucking moron!"
This is a pretty run-of-the-mill experience, but it's always unnerving. This guy simply sees "bicycle in road", and then he goes postal. This is exactly the kind of person we need to protect pedestrians and cyclists from.
