Avec Camera Silens, le groupe punk qu'il a créé, Gilles Bertin oscille entre concerts turbulents, tremplins rock et petites combines. Jusqu'au jour où il braque près de 12 millions de francs à la Brink's. Ses complices sont rapidement rattrapés... mais Gilles parvient à s'échapper en passant les Pyrénées. Une cavale de plusieurs décennies commence alors. Figure sans concession des années 1980, Gilles Bertin a publié une autobiographie à succès, "Trente ans de cavale". Adaptation rock de celle-ci, "Les Héros du peuple sont immortels" relate son parcours en forme de rédemption depuis les années punk et sida, jusqu'aux années 2010.
