CAUGHT STEALING has a very fun cast, with Austin Butler quite good as the straight man caught in a criminal quagmire. But something seems to be missing. It's not the fault of Charlie Huston, who has adapted this quite well from his own excellent novel with a bit of Rich Cohen's TOUGH JEWS thrown in. Darren Aronofsky is so weirdly needy with the showy camera movement, even when he has the feel of 1998 NYC just right. It's okay and enjoyable at times, but no ANORA.

'Caught Stealing' it's chaotic, stylish and full of energy from the very first scene. You can tell it's trying really hard to be something Guy Ritchie-esque with its quick pacing, eccentric characters and that mix of comedy and violence.
