Today is the first official Food Day Canada. It’s been celebrated for years, but Parliament recently passed a bill, sponsored by my Senate colleague, Rob Black, to make it a “real” national day. As a former journalist, I’m pretty cynical about official “days”. But I’ll be gleefully celebrating Food Day Canada at the Edmonton Heritage Festival, Canada’s greatest celebration of food.
