Forget the actual race, the real competition was happening courtside! Someone pitted the iPhone 17 Pro, S25 Ultra, and Pixel 10 Pro XL camera phones against each other at the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

My money's on the one that didn't over-process the victory champagne. Which phone do you think took P1?

I Took 3 of the Best Phone Cameras to the Las Vegas Grand Prix, and Here's My P1

Formula 1 racing came to Las Vegas, so what better place to do a photoshoot out of three of the top camera phones? Let's race the iPhone 17 Pro, Samsung S25 Ultra and Pixel 10 Pro XL.

Modern smart phones push the limits of their lenses and sensors by taking multiple pictures, blending them together, and adding a crap ton of filters and generative algorithms on top. Usually this works pretty well and improves the quality of the photos. But when it goes wrong? Oh boy.

These are bricks.

This is why generative algorithms suck. They just make stuff up.

I remember when camera phones were advertized on the radio and later when the iPhone was brand new. I think that green and purple zigzag pattern should be brought back to gas station cups and stuff.

Explain xkcd is a wiki dedicated to explaining the webcomic xkcd. Go figure.

I was extremely close to buy a Sony Xperia 1 mark IV today. That would have been a mistake. Apparently it suffers from bad software (and maybe hardware?). It's overheating and draining battery faster then I can say: "swoosh - there goes my 1400kr"

Today, we cannot imagine not using our phone for taking pictures to post on social media platforms or share memories with your family members. However, if I told you that the legacy of #cameraphones is owed to a device that did not even launch all over the world, would you believe me? The phone in question is the #Sharp #JSH04 that was released by #JPhone way back in November 2000. #FirstCameraPhone
