My warm congratulations to dr. Ali Dokumacı, for the successful defence of his PhD thesis on "The Discursive Constructions of the Home in Prague Student Dormitories and Hostels: Hegemony, Counter-Hegemony, and Liminality". It's a fascinating piece of work, combining discourse theory and ethnography, and showing the contingencies of one of the spaces/places we take so much for granted: The home.
