#VICE #CBM8296 #CBM8032 #Commodore #PET I made a bug report and a test for VICE for the CBM8296 emulation. Unlike the other PETs in CRTC's Register 12, the CBM8296 does not have an invert function. VICE must take this into account.

Some progress with my #Commodore #diagnosticClip project: after desoldering and replacing the #PIA #6520 with another PIA, my #CBM8032 passed all tests and the diagnostic was doing loops. This is the evidence, that the test gear is working. ❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙂

My #Commodore #CBM8032 has very likely a broken 6520 PIA. The SRQ line does not work, which is not tragic, since it is not used. But I want to pass the diagnostic test. Since I have plenty 6821 and it is a #PIA, too and it is pin compatible and the registers also look the same, I gave it a try and installed on in my PET #CBM3016. It is socketed there 🙂 I have tested it a lot and it seems, that it works.

I was hacking the software of the #Commodore #CBM8032 diagnostic clip, changing the CRTC parapeters, so it is possible to display the (now NTSC) video signal, using a video mixer, connected to the user port. Unfortunately, the video frequency test fails now. More work to ahead…
