For Low Vision Awareness month the Braille Institute launched a new version of "Atkinson Hyperlegible", their easy-to-read and free-to-use font. [1]

"Atkinson Hyperlegible Next" adds more weights, more glyphs, and improves kerning. And there's now a monospace version.

Check out Kim Tidwell's interview with Brad Scott, founder of Applied Design, who collaborated on the font. [2]

A new typeface – greater legibility and readability for low vision readers Atkinson Hyperlegible font is named after Braille Institute founder, J. Robert Atkinson.  What makes it different from traditional typography design is that it focuses on letterform distinction to increase character recognition, ultimately improving readability.  We are making it free for anyone to use!

I'm still, slowly, working on a #LandingPage for my new website and have decided that for #accessibility and #UX reasons, Atkinson Hyperlegible will be the main font. It's designed to be unambiguous, making it extremely easy to read.

The link to the official page on the #BrailleInstitute's website wont load for me, but there's also the project on #GitHub (do avoid Google #Fonts) https://github.com/googlefonts/atkinson-hyperlegible
