Not entirely unrelated: Does anyone have pointers on how to find the right size of molded bra cups for DIY bras? Because I am utterly clueless about working with them (and I'm just starting my bramaking adventures). I prefer unlined cups for myself, but there are people who want them for silhouette reasons.
I want to sew a dress for an occasion but I also keep browsing bra(lette) patterns, and I keep thinking about making bras for a trans woman in my life.
Which are two totally different challenges.
I have a hunch that the "large ribcage, small cups" population is even more underserved than the "small band size, big cups" part of the spectrum. I used to be in that latter part of the spectrum until ny body changed a couple years ago.
I finished my first me-made bralette today. Which is huge for me because I'm a size where I usually don't find bralettes that fit me well, so finding a pattern that works for my body is a major win.
Also, it was my first time working with foldover elastic (note to self: get wider FOE for the next one, the narrow one I got is a pain).
It's the Banksia Bralette by Muna and Broad, and if the one made stands the test of everyday use, I might make more of them.

Huh. I want the Shelley's pull-inward-at-the-top-of-the-cup look, with wide straps (why is this ever left out), boning or cording to spread the pressure, and non-synthetic fabrics.

If you're still looking for bra pattern suggestions, I made a #Porcelynne #Laurel sports bra about 2 years ago for my wife. She likes that design well enough that she's worn a commercial bra only once since.
The only issue I had with the design is that you have to do a bit of fudging if you want to mix & match cup sizes (F on one side, H on the other, for example).
