Boogiepop Phantom is pretty good! I enjoyed the introspective, disturbing, and melancholy themes of this anime! Boogiepop Phantom feels like an initially fragmented tale which becomes more cohesive as the episode count increases! This is due to the storytelling style of trusting that the audience would gradually understand what is going on, as they dropped sufficient hints in each episode. I would recommend this anime as it's a classic.

@Gothfarts There is a series called #BoogiePopPhantom. I’ve only watched, never read it. But it’s an amazing #jhorror #anime.
There’s another newer similarly titled Boogie Pop which I’ve not seen.
@NachoNachoMan I don’t have much experience with #manga, but #BoogiePopPhantom is a masterful, non-linear narrative. I found it through the #anime series. It was originally released in the 2000’s and directed by Takashi Watanabe.
The fandom website calls a series of “light novels”. The leads are almost entirely female and it is absolutely amazing, genre work. This is from the “Manga Wiki”, so presumably, so it is at least tangential work to #manga

The series is directed by Takashi Watanabe, from a screenplay by Sadayuki Murai, with original character designs by novel illustrator Kouji Ogata, and so
#NowWatching Perfect Blue. I’ve been wanting to watch this one for awhile.
As an aside for anyone who enjoys #horror #anime you should seek out the series #BoogiePopPhantom. You can stream it free on PlutoTV or on Crunchy Roll if you subscribe to that service. I’m not a big anime fan, but the non-linear narrative and excellent story telling makes for a truly great series.
