Blorbo.social will go offline for about an hour, from around 6am UTC Monday 12 May, for some scheduled maintenance.
In light of Zuckerberg's intended moderation changes for Threads, Blorbo Social will no longer be federating with Threads. We may revisit this decision in the future.

Going forward, this will be where I post tech specific updates about Blorbo.Social, as well as guidance when necessary for things like how best to submit your report during a spam wave for example.
Additionally, if there's any general moderation business that needs to be handled via DM (or a regular post), and @admin Chicken isn't the one handling it, I'll be sending messages from here instead of my personal account.

Did we reject your application for an account on blorbo.social?
If so, it's highly likely that it's because your application didn't mention anything fannish or blorbo-related.
We're not that selective, and we accept most applications.
We usually reject an application if it seems like the person applying doesn't know that blorbo.social is for fannish people.
You don't have to be particularly fannish yourself, as long as it doesn't bother you to be on a fandom-focused instance.
If you've randomly selected blorbo.social without knowing anything about it, this might not be the right instance for you. There are lots of other instances you can try. Look here for some suggestions: https://instances.social
If you still want an account on blorbo.social, you have a couple of options:
- If you know someone who already has an account here, ask them to send you an invite. This will enable you to create an account immediately without having to wait for a mod to review it.
- Otherwise, just apply again, and this time make sure you mention something about fandom or blorbos. Unless you were an absolute fuckwit in your first application (extremely rare), we won't have blacklisted you. We probably won't even realise that you've previously applied.
Blorbo.Social has been updated to run on Mastodon release 4.3.2

Wev'e updated Blorbo.Social's **About** page.
Main changes are:
- removed or replaced broken links
- removed UK from list of countries to consider in regards to our "no illegal content" rule
- added brief comments in parentheses about the remaining countries: Germany (where our server is based) and Australia (where I live)
- removed mention of inviting people to join our volunteer crew (we're not currently looking for more volunteers)
We've updated Blorbo.Social's privacy policy. The only change is that our donations processor is now Open Collective. Previously, it was Patreon.
