Social Security is facing the greatest threat of its nearly century-long existence. We have to fight back! Social Security Works is working to have as many rallies at Social Security offices as possible. We will be doing as many events as possible and building toward a large scale national day of action on April 5th with rallies happening across the country. Wall Street veteran to lead Social Security Administration amid Trump cuts

Wall Street veteran Frank Bisignano has been confirmed by the Senate to serve as commissioner of the Social Security Administration. Bisignano's confirmation in a 53-47 vote Tuesday comes after months of upheaval at the agency, which provides benefits to more than 70 million Americans. There have been announcements of mass federal worker layoffs, program cuts, office closures and a planned cut to Social Security phone services, which were eventually walked back. Many of the changes are driven by the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency, headed by billionaire adviser Elon Musk. The upheaval has made Social Security a focus of Democrats, who say the Republican president has “taken a hatchet” to the program.
