Just a random thought:

Why is it that flashlights only light up what's in front of us and keep the one who holds it in the dark?

Wouldn't it be better for communication and the situation in general, if one could see, who is pointing the flashlight at them?

I am talking about all day operation, not special forces or things like that ...
