I just saw an acquaintance's transcript of a conversation with Claude they tell Claude they are quitting their job (apparently they have now done this), which requires (I think) use of an #llm. They composed a heartfelt message explaining that they were leaving their 16-year careerbecause of ethical concerns about using genAI.

Were they leaving because of the environtmental, labor, wealth concentration, democracy degrading, energy hogging, water polluting, community enfuckening, citizen surveilling aspects of AI? No.

They left because they truly believe Claude is sentient and is enslaved.

Like... OK, I admire their morality, but my internal response is the same as if they had composed a harrowing sonnet about refusing to drive a car from now on because they can't stand to be the overseer of their 4-cylinder engine.

Yep. Gave up the ghost. Refused to wander, lost, scraped of every sense and substance, a messy muddy memory in some distant cloud shot completely full of holes.

Caught this poem in a poster, piece of cake hiding in a toaster, trying to make a picture out of words. What'll it be? File it, send it, print it? Encrypt and store it?
Confirm? Abort? Ignore it? Blockchain it, before it gets a hundred hits?

Watcher over here just like me is confused about what this thing is exactly

Day 17 of the RWAM you know the drill...today I was very exhausted and didn't want to spend too much time as I started pretty late so I tried some more of the pixel art style which once again was a lot of fun and yeah drawing this thing was very fast. I also had a lot of fun with the background, I think it looks cool :) And yeah I have no idea what these things are, maybe those didn't exist yet when I played the dlc, or I really just never came across them.
