I went for my covid shot yesterday. Am feeling a bit bleh today. Will start the day cozy and have a pot of tea and do a bunch of crocheting.

The pharmacist who gave me the shot at Rexall Bells Corners is super nice and understanding of people with needle phobias.

@ottaross
Weather site says chance of thundershowers till 2 am, maybe I'll put the plants back out tomorrow, even though the radar map doesn't show any more rain coming. That last bit appeared out of nothing just west of here.

The rain is pretty half-hearted.
There has been some lightning/thunder but nothing like what @ShaunOttawa saw. So far.

The wind picked up ... a few raindrops starting to fall.

❤ FOR THE LOVE OF GRETA THUNBERG—VOTE GREEN ✅ (Eurythmics, 1984)(Thunberg, 2022)
I’ve been putting this off, but the election is almost over and I should follow through for anyone who has not voted yet, as I have not.
I am grateful for all the nominations I received, and to the gracious officials at Elections Canada who accepted them, but I am sorry not to appear on the ballot as an independent, as a protest option for those who are frustrated by partisan politics (Gibson Davis, 2025).
Every day the news from America and around the world gets worse. We’ve taken a turn for the worse because many people in America voted in protest against the incumbents (Hasan & Varoufakis, 2025). They wanted to see the incumbents taken down a peg, and instead they’ve brought the big board crashing down on all of us (Stevenson, 2025) (Kubrick, 1964).
I worry about the same thing happening here. I worry that people might vote Conservative, not because the Conservatives have any rational arguments, but because people hate the Liberals and want a change. I want to emphasize that a Conservative vote is not a protest vote, it is a regressive vote for a party of landlords and employers that is collapsing under the weight of it’s own populist hubris (Gilmore, 2025).
If you are angry at the government, and upset with all the parties and the professional politicians, I would ask you to vote for me, but I will not be on the ballot, so I ask you to vote Green, as I have decided to do (Kuo, 2025).
I am voting Green, not because I like the Canadian Green Party, or the local candidate, but because I am sympathetic to environmentalism and also I am disappointed that another, even more handsome Jonathan from the Greens didn’t get to speak in the debates, and because I dearly love and respect Greta Thunberg and follow her lead always (Francois, 2025) (Pedneault, 2025) (Thunberg, 2023).
If you are one of my nominating electors or supporters, and you simply cannot be asked to make a strategic vote for the damn Liberals, then I urge you to vote Green.
If I see a big boost on Green in Kanata and Bells Corners I will know it was us.
Vote Green for Greta,
I’ve decided that is what I am going to do,

Anyone in #ottawa #bellscorners know what happened to Duna European Bistro?

Was thinking of going there soon (have loved them since they were in #blackburnhamlet) but Google Maps says they're permanently closed. Their website is still up and welcoming though...

The coyotes are howling again. #bellscorners #Ottawa
