Does anyone have experience with Beegfs and quotas ?

Or other clustered file systems?

#HPC #BeeGFS #Quota

Work may switch to #BeeGFS https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BeeGFS (which says "This article contains content that is written like an advertisement"). It runs in user space and is meant to run on some type of Linux. The recommended file systems -- for storage & metadata servers -- do not include #ZFS; why?

Anyway, the purpose would be to provide storage space & serve home directories. As I/O throughput has not been an issue with existing infrastructure, it may be an overkill. Any pain points?
BeeGFS - Wikipedia

I really like #BeeGFS but, like other #HPC filesystems, security is a bit erm...

Anyway I have a few loose ends to tie up so will likely be publishing some issues of varying significance in the coming weeks.

I'll then turn my focus to #Lustre as I've neglected that somewhat and I think quite a lot has changed since I last looked.

If you are in the #HPC field I do try to drop advanced notifications through to the HPCsec mailing list for things that it's not yet appropriate to share publicly - feel free to sign up here if it would benefit you to see this stuff before it's public:

C'est #BeeGFS et non pas BeegsFS

Le client est #GPLv2 mais tout le reste est en « BeeGFS EULA » dont la lecture ultra diagonale m'inquiète un peu « All enterprise features are disabled by default. »

Ne serais-ce pas #OpenCore ?
