The #RomanEmperor #Julian (aka #JulianTheApostate) defeated the #SasanianEmpire at #BattleOfCtesiphon, #ThisDayInHistory in 363, under the walls of the #Sassanid capital, but failed to take the city. His Persian campaign ended ignominiously when he was assassinated a month later.
