Gary WongI have #books once written/owned by my grandparents. One day, I might have grandchildren of my own to read them.
#Digital #media are much harder (ten years ago, Macromedia/Adobe Flash was a predominant format, but now it's unusable).
If digital #libraries like the #InternetArchive are permitted to preserve digital media, it'll be difficult for my future grandchildren to access today's things. If they're prohibited, it'll be all but impossible.
ShachihokoAnd the oral arguments in the #BattleForLibraries have finished. At least for today. We'll see what the judge decides and where things go from there.

Dinah 🕊🇺🇦Wow. Hachette et al. straight up arguing there's no educational value/use to genre fiction and Internet Archive is not an educational institution. That's some serious bullshit.
Well, if somehow this ruling doesn't go in favor of @internetarchive, the publishers just gave strong incentive for a whole bunch more authors and scholars of popular culture to rally to IA's side.
It really feels like the plaintiffs [publishers] are just arguing, "We want our money," more than literally anything else.
