Basinski a enregistré 4 disques nommés The Disintegeation Loops qui portent très bien leur nom : de vieilles boucles enregistrées dans les 80's que Basinski laisse se désintégrer en enregistrant cette désintégration. #ambient #music #experimental #basinski

#SundaArc is a new find for me, but via an old route, the Gondwana label that also is the home of Gogo Penguin, Jasmine Myra, Portico Quartet, and Mammal Hands... the aesthetic is a more processed but not sterile sound. #frippertronics in #reaper (but you can do this in any #Daw which allows #FeedbackLoops.

For those that don't know Frippertronics is a recording system where a player can keep on layering on top of a recording of themselves.

Of course you can do this digitally very easily but what I've programmed into the setup here is an approximation of the tape degrading a little each time as it does on those great #BrianEno and #RobertFripp albums of the mid 70s.

It's also good for setting up a loop and just listening to it decay over time. You can do a good impression of the #disintegrationLoops of #Basinski fame.

I use ChowDsp's fantastic Chow tape. It's free and the best tape sim I've used.
