Did you know you can block an ENTIRE company from your network? It's easy with #OpenWRT and the #BanIP package. Is that extreme? Yes! Is it what you want to do? Probably Not! But Maybe it is.

1) Search for the ASN for the company you want to nuke (e.g Facebook, Twitter, Microsoft).
2) Use a tool to acquire a list of ASN IPs such as https://hackertarget.com/as-ip-lookup/
3) Paste into the banIP blacklist and reload

Upgrading your home router can be an excellent gateway into #linux, #selfhosting, and #infosec. Many sub $70 routers can be found easily that support OpenWRT.

Ich habe auf meinem OpenWrt Home Router nun banip installiert und frage mich die ganze Zeit: Was wollen die IP-Adressen alle von mir?

Ich bekomme sekündlich Einträge im Firewall Log über blockiere IP-Adressen. Des Weiteren wurden 52 Syn-Floods, 225 UDP-Floods, 11149 ICMP-Floods und 1261 invalide ct Pakete blockiert.

Gibt es wirklich noch Geräte da draußen die auf so etwas reinfallen?

(Auch ohne banIP hätte meine Firewall so gut wie alles blockiert.)
