I thought of this video when
@Erzbet posted #HistoricalConcepts as a #KpopMonday theme, but I decided that the mere adoption of vaguely hanbokish outfits did not justify tagging the video as '''historical".

Nevertheless, I decided to post it here for two reasons. In the first place, the outfits make such a refreshing change from the miniskirts and shorts so often worn by idols; I like the movement of the fabric around their covered legs here.

I quite like the song itself, especially the middle eastern touch, but "Jungle" is by no means BVNDIT's best song. That prize should be awarded to "Dumb", a performance video of which I will attach to this post as a response. That brings me for my second reason for posting; I don't want this now disbanded group to slip into oblivion. Even in the heavily processed vocals of "Jungle", you can hear some of the deeper tones that made this group's singing such a distinctive pleasure in kpop girl group listening.

Today's Random Kpop Song is a song my mom loves. She likes some Kpop and that makes her awesome. Her favorite artists are CL, I.M, and Monsta X. I played today's song in the car when we were waiting for our food in a drive thru. She immediately asked me to put it on her Spotify. Today's song is Jungle by BVNDIT! I love this song so much! I wish BVNDIT had more time to shine because they had crazy potential.

I am pretty sure they are using "dumb" with the US English meaning of "stupid" rather than the British English "mute"; what do people mean by "dumb" in Australia and New Zealand?

BVNDIT (I think it's pronounced "bandit") were notable for the inclusion of deeper voices in their vocal line up. They were good performers, but, like so many groups from the smaller agencies, were never able to break through into mass success.

I much prefer this performance video to the original MV. I like the outfits, and the choreography stands out against the simple backgrounds.
