There are 49 000 ballots yet to count for the #bcelexn, mail-in ballots received after advance polls, but before the end of election day. Given "Eight ridings were won by razor-thin margins of less than 1.5 per cent, and, in two cases, the B.C. NDP won by fewer than 100 votes" is it likely that the results will change?

Adam Zivo: Could mail-in votes unseat the B.C. NDP?

Rural mail-in voters could tie or flip the results

Well, the #bcelexn is tight. I'll guess that most voters aren't happy with the direction the province has been heading, but many others aren't convinced they want to hand power to the BC Conservatives either.

It's not just tight overall, many of the individual races are too. Automatic recounts will ensue, might be a few flips.

Signing off for the night.

BC United to run some candidates to retain party name

“It’s perfectly legitimate for parties to unite, to merge, to do so strategically to prevent splitting the vote, but I’ve just never seen a leader fold a party at the beginning of an election campaign without telling his candidates, without telling his members, and essentially just give that organization away to a different party — it’s really remarkable,” he said.

BC United to run some candidates to retain party name

Times Colonist

“B.C. United, however, is "continuing to just absolutely bleed support to the B.C. Conservative Party," Kurl said. "

I still think the actual campaign and actual election day in October could be very different than these polls. But it's pretty clear the “BC Liberal” change to “BC United” could very well go down as the dumbest blunder in the history of BC Politics, and that's saying a LOT.
