Azerenerji commissions a 1,880 MW gas-fired power plant in Azerbaijan

The Azerbaijani national power utility Azerenerji has announced the commissioning of a 1,880 MW gas-fired power plant located in Mingachevir, central Azerbaijan. The "November 8" project was developed by Azerenerji, with construction beginning in 2023. Originally, the power plant featured four 320 MW units (totalling 1,280 MW), but the project's capacity was later raised to 1,880 MW, with the addition of 600 MW. Gas turbines and generators were manufactured by Ansaldo Energia, while the Chinese company Dongfang supplied main equipment.
