You may have heard that last weekend the final episode of the #Automators podcast from @relay was released. What does this mean for the #Obsidian vault I created to support it? Well, as the hosts noted it isn't being abandoned, and you can read the general plan in my latest blog post.

Automators Podcast Obsidian Vault - Next Steps

In May 2024 I was a returning guest on the Automators podcast, a show on the Relay network that looked at the use of consumer technologies to automate tasks. On the show I announced the release of a project I had been working on for over a year that related to the podcast - an Obsidian vault of content for the podcast. In October 2024, an announcement was made that the podcast was ending, and a week ago the final episode was released. In this post I will outline my plans for the vault as the ending of the podcast does change how I plan to manage things a little bit.

@relay @rosemary @macsparky - I was a little surprised this wasn’t mentioned on the last #Automators episode, but there have been a few posts on the Automators podcast forum since the announcement on ep166 querying what the future of the podcast forum is going to be.

It would be worth someone clarifying on the forum if it is going to continue, move/integrate elsewhere, be archived to a read only state, or simply close down and go offline.

Finally have episode 162 in the #Automators #Obsidian vault. Lots of new content from that jam-packed episode, and oh so many (thousands of!!) new cross references back through prior episodes. I'll be catching up on documenting the backlog of more recent episodes as soon as I can based; balanced against other demands like the day job, family, household chores, etc. 😉

Just one of the reasons my documenting of #Automators podcast episode 162 is taking so long is that I’m continuing to cross-reference content back through the catalogue of episodes and 162 has some heavy hitter mentions with huge volumes to cross-reference. The changes in the screenshot here are just the ones I was able to use tools ty help with. There were a few hundred more just for this one that needed manually finessing.

Ep 162 coming soon ... ish 😆

Catching up on updating my Obsidian-based knowledge base for the #Automators episode before last (ep161), and I’m going word-blind.

I wish developers wouldn’t name their apps after common words that crop up regularly in conversation. For ep160 it was “Reminders” and “Make”. This time it’s “Things”. Do you know how often the word THINGS comes up in a podcast about automation where there’s a lot of nebulous stuff to talk about?

Yes, a lot!

Guess I’ve only really myself (+ those devs) to blame🙄

A little later than I had planned, but for the most valid of reasons I assure you, the episode 159 update to the #Automators podcast #Obsidian vault is now available. Lots of new content and hundreds of new cross-references. Work will be commencing on episode 160 fairly shortly as it is already out. In fact all the first pass automated stuff was completed at the weekend. Its all the manual research and writing to build out the additional content that consumes most of the time 🤓💻

The journey south has begun. I am officially on my way to London to see the 10 Years of @relay Extravaganza. Yes I am a day early on my travels, but London is a small trek and I need a bit of decompression time a few tough weeks. That being said my train journey is being spent in @obsidian working on the supporting content for #Automators episode 159 into the public vault for the podcast - https://github.com/sylumer/automators.

Finally finished researching and working my way through all the stuff for @relay #Automators podcast episode 158. Approximately 30 new pages of content is now available in the #Obsidian vault for the podcast. Download the latest release from the Github repo now … and I guess I’ll be starting on the next episode when it releases later this evening.

The new web site for documenting Cluster (my in testing #Alfred workflow for the #Bunch app) is taking shape thanks to using an existing site (built on the always useful Jekyll just-the-docs template) that I had built previously.

It isn't online yet, but you can still grab a copy of this test release workflow from the #Automators forum - https://talk.automators.fm/t/alfred-workflow-for-working-with-the-bunch-app/17237?u=sylumer

🍇 Alfred Workflow for Working with the Bunch app

Hi everyone 👋 Background on My Use of Bunch Over the course of the last three weeks I have been getting to grips with the app Bunch by @ttscoff. I have looked at it several times before and figured I could and should be using it, but it didn’t quite fit some of my way of working. This was more a constraint of my practices than a shortfall in the app. Over time I have been making small changes to some of my workflow processes and approaches to get to the point where I could make good use of...

If you are a Mac user and also use #Alfred and the #Bunch app by @ttscoff , you might be able to help me test a new Alfred workflow I've been putting together.

I've shared the details on the #Automators forum.
