I discovered Garifuna Collective after watching Aurelio Martinez in a tribute show to Andy Palacio at Festival de Músicas do Mundo de Sines back in 2008.
Andy had recorded what became his last album (the prized Wátina) with Garifuna Collective in 2007.

Más de 200 artistas, activistas, académicos, organizaciones culturales y líderes comunitarios de América Latina, Estados Unidos y Europa han firmado una carta abierta exigiendo una investigación transparente, independiente y efectiva sobre el accidente aéreo ocurrido el pasado 17 de marzo, en el que falleció el reconocido músico y líder garífuna Aurelio Martínez Suazo, junto a otras once personas, y que dejó cinco sobrevivientes en estado crítico.
