I just finished #ArkaneLyon's "#DeathLoop".

Initially, because it is a game set in its own very unique world with its own unique mechanics, I was SUPER overwhelmed. I think #Arkane could have polished up the new player experience a bit more, as everything had huge blocks of text which I didn't fully understand it.

HOWEVER I didn't do myself any favors either. My default play style is to sneak and poke at everything and try to get places I shouldn't, so the intro portion of the game should have taken an hour or so (if I had followed directions) and it probably took me 5-10hrs instead, whoops.

That said, once I got into it, I REALLY got into it.

The story itself is pretty straightforward and I guessed several of the OMGTWIST! moments, but still, I loved it. I'd really love to see a follow-up or a 'backstory' sequel.

I also think the way they implemented multiplayer is very interesting, essentially enabling a 1v1 PvP amongst those who have beaten the game.
I normally avoid multiplayer (PvP) like the plague since I don't have time to get good at a game, it means I'm often on the bottom getting stomped repeatedly.
So I turned it off for my initial play through, but I think I might turn it back on now that a midday wipe isn't nearly as impactful as when you are trying to finish the main storyline.

Also, most games don't get me to commit time after I beat them, however there are so many puzzles and "quests" that I want to go back and unravel them all.

Lastly, I really enjoyed the comedy, snark and banter that #JasonKelley brought to the main character.

If you're in the mood/market for an #immersiveRpg I highly suggest it. It's worth the play as long as you're okay with the slight grind that comes with "Dying means a slight reset." It's not Dark Souls, but if you really REALLY hate that gameplay mechanic it may not entice you.
