It's #GrindayFriday, and this week is local Phoenix, Arizona grind/powerviolence duo LAW ABIDING CITIZEN and their 2024 EP 'For the Culture' via No Time Records. The separate tracks of the EP have all been merged into one here-- just over 10 minutes total. Great riffs, brutality, insanity, a few samples that actually still crack me up (Carrey and Farley). A lot to dig on this one.

INSANELY great #ThursDeath this week-- been waiting for this one. MISANTHROPIC are local Phoenix, Arizona boys and they just released a MASTERPIECE of a debut LP yesterday. Discovered this KILLER local Arizona band the other day called Gemm- they kinda remind me of Hum or Catherine Wheel in that kinda 90s/early 2000s heavy, guitarry super melodic rock way. And the dude's voice is great. Are they shoegazey? Maybe. But not super slow. They're really worth a listen.

For this week's #RegionalRiffs (kudos to @Banur), an AMAZING band from here in Phoenix, Arizona called ATOLL.

They just put out a new album last month called Human Extract and it's beautiful and gross and crushing and sludgy.

Definitely earned a spot in my top 20 favorite albums of the year.

Every time I think I won't have a band for @Banur's #RegionalRiffs, I find one.

Blood Loss (not to be confused with Mark Arm's project from the 90s, Bloodloss) is from Mesa, Arizona - just a few minutes from me. And they RIP. Their album from last year, The Order of Malevolence, is KILLER. Has kind of a deathy sludgy Cannibal Corpse kind of feel.

It's #RegionalRiffs time again. An amazing band from here in Arizona (that I really miss- they broke up after their 2017 album) was TWINGIANT. Gnarly, heavy shit. Bass player Jared's rough growl-scream vocals, walls of guitars, doomy, some Motorhead in there too. I saw em twice and we hung out both times too (once with my now wife before we were married!)

Twingiant left us with FOUR amazing albums, starting with Mass Driver in 2012, all linked below. I still have my ratty Twingiant shirt from this era and you're damn right I still wear it.
