Poor Zuck is trying to save his #metaverse dream on the eve of Apple’s VR announcement.
My guess is that #AppleReality will not compete against Quest and PSVR head on for games, as it's still a rather niche product category. What Apple will do is to vertically integrate its strengths with the productivity and versatility aspects of macOS, iOS, and watchOS.
We will get a VR version of macOS that has infinite desktop workspace and new 3D apps. Meta and PSVR can’t compete against that.
Been thinking about #Apple’s rumored AR/XR headset that’s supposedly launching next month. I predict the #AppleReality will be a disappointment this year & we’ll all have one two years from now.
The promise of an AR headset is there. It’s easy to imagine how awesome it’ll be. This headset will fall short of that imagination.
The iPhone wasn’t a mainstream product until at least its 3rd generation. Watch took even longer to be adopted. This headset will be no different.
