Absolutely wild the rate at which Apple is bleeding AI talent. Increasingly looks like their best (and maybe only) path to ship “LLM Siri” and other delayed AI features/hardware next year will be to power everything with Gemini or Claude as reported.
It’s gonna take them so many years to catch up.
It shouldn’t be a question of whether you like how it looks or not.
Apple spent all summer tweaking the behaviours of Liquid Glass and the result is an interface that still does *this* much of the time
I think Apple should be held to a higher standard after their decades-long reputation as leaders of user centric interface design
Attached: 4 images I got Apple's TechWoven case for the 17 Pro Max. - Immediately feels much nicer and more premium than FineWoven - iOS 26 doesn't recognize it, but the 16 Pro Max fits inside it and all the buttons work 😅
This is the perfect demonstration of why Liquid Glass is a mistake.
Sure it’s not always this bad, and sometimes it even looks cool. But the system UI should fundamentally just work.
Instead it’s in a constant state of flux trying to remain legible, in an attempt to solve the problem it created.
