So apparently, if you accidentally hit the wrong button in one of #Windows11's stupid backup dialogs that seem to pop up with depressing regularity, it will start backing up your data to OneDrive, even if you have another backup software installed and running.

And apparently you can't stop the sync once it started, and have to wait until the initial sync is finished before you can stop & disable the sync and then hopefully nuke the data from the cloud drive that wasn't supposed to get there in the first place.

While I'm not a huge fan of #Apole's stance on #righttorepair, none of my MacOS and iOS devices had me accidentally sync data to the cloud that wasn't supposed to be there.

#Microsoft, what are you doing to your customers? I've been using Windows since 3.0, so one would think that I should know by know how to drive it.

I'm rather infuriated and frustrated by this #enshittification. This machine is mostly running #Linux anyway other than for the very few times I absolutely need Windows. Like, for the three times a year I fire up a game.

I'm guessing that I'm also about to retire my two additional Windows laptops and replace them with a #MacOS laptop. Yes, I could stick Linux on there but for various reasons, that's not going to help much.
