Trying to get help from #anpost on a delayed delivery seems to be taking longer than the delivery. In two hours only get a "real" response that doesn't even make sense.
MikeEI’ve heard recently of some argument between a politician and the boss of A Post, regarding profitability.
They should both go fuck themselves. Postal service is not meant to be profitable, it’s meant to deliver parcels and letters in a timely manner and provide people with jobs. In fact providing public services by means of employing people is the thing that a government exists to do. Any politician who doesn’t understand this, should go run a fucking bank. (Ranting coz my parcel has been stuck in the a post system for 10 days, after it took 5 to get there from Portugal. An Post has a WhatsApp, but they ignore it. Their built in chat doesn’t work in Firefox. I used Chrome to contact them, after 20 minutes of waiting they told me they will check and email me. They also said they’d forward the conversation to my mail, but they didn’t)

Dermot RyanInterestingly, wrt An Post's baffling inclusion of a TV antenna in their image of Daniel O'Connell, if you *were* to ask AI to generate an image of Dublin "back in the day", and weren't very clear about how far back you wanted, TV antennas might turn up, as they were an extraordinary feature of Dublin, being extremely tall to pick up UK TV channels in pre-cable TV days. Check out the famous Evelyn Hofer photo for some whoppers in '66.
