How to Become an AWS Data Engineer in 2024 : A Quick Guide - Career Swami

Learn the essential AWS services every data engineer should master, from S3 and Redshift to Glue and Lambda to become an AWS Data Engineer.

Career Swami

I am now offering an *#AmazonRedshift cluster cost reduction* service, where the fee is and only is one month of the saving made.

The landing page of the RRP web-site has been re-written and videos of me (only two to begin with, but more over time), mainly talking about Redshift, and details of this, other services and all that jazz, are here;

Amazon Redshift Consultancy

I began using Redshift the day it came out back in 2012 and have been investigating it in depth for many years now, and so I can answer - *really* answer, not AWS Support answers - all your Redshift questions, and where I'm not AWS, I'm not also trying to sell Redshift; I'm only here to help you.

I've finally spent a weekend and converted what is now about two years of benchmarking #AmazonRedshift data into gnuplots.

Most recent update two days ago, on the 15th April.

You can now see for yourselves, directly and visually, the variations in performance of each node type across regions and over time - the region wide upgrades (and occasional downgrades).

#AmazonRedshift Version Tracker Improvement

The version tracker is now also tracking *maintenance* track. Previously, it was *current* track only.

Current maintenance release is from 27th Jan - and today is 19th April!

But we've had now no new release on current since 1st March, a big long gap.

Producing charts of the cross-region benchmarks for #AmazonRedshift. WIP - here's dc2.large for af-south-1, covering about two years. Interesting, isn't it? the three three region-wide upgrades are obvious.
