Associated Press news agency reported, according to the U.S. military, that two U.S. warships have passed through the Strait of Hormuz.

The news agency wrote that this is the first time since the start of the U.S.-Iran war that news of American warships passing through the Strait of Hormuz has been reported.

Meanwhile, Iranian media have stated that a U.S. military vessel attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz was forced to turn back by Iran.

According to reports, today, U.S. and Iranian delegations have met face-to-face in Islamabad, and further talks may take place tonight or tomorrow.

Following threats from U.S. President Donald Trump regarding protests in Iran, the Qatari Foreign Ministry has stated that the Washington-Tehran dispute will have devastating consequences for the region.

Ministry spokesperson Majid Ansari said yesterday during a meeting that Doha is attempting to find a peaceful solution to the conflict.

Trump recently instructed protesters to intensify demonstrations and list the names of those mistreating them.

Reuters reported that Trump, without providing details, addressed the protesters saying, "Take action, help is on the way."

Trump subsequently spoke again about the widespread protests in Iran, after which the White House released a report stating that the U.S. is considering air strikes against Iran.

Iranian officials, in response to Trump's provocations, have said they are ready for both talks and war, adding that the U.S. and Israel are behind the protests. They describe such efforts as a plot against Iran's public security.

This comes as the U.S. has previously been accused of directly and indirectly supporting wars in the Middle East and other countries – a plan experts describe as a pretext for action against those countries and a way to create turmoil.
